Blurb :

The primal rule of winning: don’t fall in love with the contender.
Three months shy of her eighteenth birthday, Ness is forced to return to Colorado. Even though it’s been six years, and the wolves of her all-male pack don’t recognize her, she recognizes them. People who shun others because of their gender are hard to forget.

Especially Liam Kolane—son of Heath, the crudest and cruelest Alpha to have ruled the Boulder Pack. Liam is as handsome as he is infuriating, as kind as he is punishing, and he makes Ness’s traitorous heart race, which isn’t good. After all, he’s a Kolane. Like father like son, right?

When Heath dies, Liam vies to become the new Alpha and no one dares challenge him.
Except Ness.
Thus begins a treacherous game.
The rules: winner takes all…including loser’s life.

Okayy.. What is with me and werewolves recently 😂 This book revolves around our main character Ness who comes back to the pack after her mother’s death. How she deals with the acceptance, her guilt and attractions cover the main plot of the story.

First of all, Ness is a badass, straight forward, strong and confident character. But she is emotional and in dire need of affection. The contrast between how she wants to project herself and who she is internally is very interesting to read about. One moment, she is giving sassy comebacks to the arrogant male species, and the next moment, she just wants to be accepted and just be involved. The vulnerability is what make me love her character so much.

The second was how the writing was amazing! Through the characters, we get absolutely remarkable sassy and quirky comebacks, funny conversations while dealing with a slightly serious topic as well. I loved how the characters and the writing worked well with each other! This is the first time I have loved both the love interests and am really curious to who she will end up with! Both the characters have their own personalities, and even though you get to see the typical jealous/over protective/possessive side , you fall in love with them both! Omg I couldn’t handle the tension between the characters at all! To add to the fact that this had the best romance without having any explicit/sex scenes at all. I was really surprised with that as well!

The only thing I felt was a little disappointing was that we don’t get to learn about all the characters and their personalities. Since it’s a trilogy, I am expecting that would be done in the future books! Overall, I really loved the writing, the characters were really relatable ( Apart from shifting into a werewolf) and the story flow was amazing! I read this book in a single sitting and am writing the review immediately after! If you are a fan of paranormal romances or just anything fantasy related, definitely check this book out. It has become one of my favorites of all time..
